Does it all really matter?

Seeing past a problem can be a major challenge as it often clouds our very existence and the thought of things working out doesn’t seem like a possibility.
So often, while experiencing a personal crisis of some sort, do we feel that there is no way out, no solution, and no opportunity for things to be fixed or improved upon. Fast-forward a year, a week, or even days; once we have left the problem behind, it all can seem so insignificant and irrelevant. Personally, this type of scenario leaves me feeling as if I had wasted my time, emotions and intentions on something that was bound to work out and even if it hadn’t, something better came along and at the end what I was obsessing and worrying over didn’t even matter that much.

Seeing beyond a problem or an uneasy situation can be a major challenge for most of us as it often clouds our very existence and the thought of things working out doesn’t seem like a possibility. The negativity of the situation in question then begins to define our whole being, our thoughts and our expectations of the situation’s outcome. Just like that, in an instant, our cup becomes half empty.

When I think of past problems or uneasy situations I have been in, I am always amazed at how belittled they can seem in the present and I so often regret my reaction at the time and all the energy and emotions that I wasted on it.

Nowadays, when facing a difficult situation, I always try to imagine myself some time in the future. I am aware that the bigger the problem, the longer it will take to shake it off. I try to engage this state of having looked back and seeing how at the end things almost always work out and I have nothing to worry about. This realization allows me to almost instantly shift my state and to be more present in each situation – resulting in a more sincere, and often more positive, decision making. When in a positive state, things seem to work out better, to flow better and do not leave me feeling belittled or exhausted. Next time you are faced with a problem, imagine the ideal outcome of your problem and hold that image and feeling in your head and heart – believe it with your entire being and believe that it will come true.

Remember, everyone has problems but we each choose how to face them.

How lovely would it be to look at a problem from your past and to feel a sense of lightness and pride for having navigated it with a conscious and a positive mind?
